Chinese Wushu Association, is a national non-profit social society of sport for all aiming for the development, popularity and technical enhancement of the sport of Wushu, a collective member of All-China Sports Federation and Chinese Olympic Committee, consisting of provincial, autonomous regional, and province-level municipal Wushu associations, industry sports associations, colleges and universities, other legit Wushu societies and organizations and individual Wushu enthusiast,

The objective of Chinese Wushu Association is: abide by the Constitution, laws, regulations and policies of the People’s Republic of China, comply with the social morals and ethics, unite Wushu professionals and enthusiasts nationwide, mobilize all positive factors, inherit and carry forward the excellent cultural heritage of Chinese Wushu, advocate and popularize the Wushu sport for all, strive to promote the improvement of the technical level of the sport of Wushu, develop Wushu as a common cause, actively and steadily promote Chinese Wushu to the world, serve for the implementation of the Fitness for All program, enhance the physical fitness of the people, invigorate the national spirit, and promote the construction of socialist material and spiritual civilization.

The Chinese Wushu Association was established in September 1958, with the first President Li Menghua, the second President Dong Shouyi, the third President Zheng Huaixian, the fourth President Huang Zhong, the fifth President Xu Cai, the sixth President Zhang Yaoting, the seventh President Li Jie, the eighth President Wang Xiaolin, the ninth President Gao Xiaojun, and the current President Zhang Qiuping.

The Chinese Wushu Association accepts the business guidance and supervision of General Administration of Sport, the Ministry of Civil Affairs, All-China Sports Federation and Chinese Olympic Committee. The Association has seven sub-committees: Judges Committee, Coaches Committee, Wushu Industry Development Committee, Scientific Research Committee, Traditional Wushu Committee, Wushu School Work Steering Committee and Press Committee.
