The 2024 Global Taijiquan Virtual Competition

The Sports for All Online Games & The 2022 Global Taijiquan Virtual Competition will be launched soon. The registration channel will be officially opened on May 11, and Taijiquan enthusiasts around the world can participate in this competition via the official website, mobile site, and official WeChat account of the Chinese Wushu Association.

Each entry will go through the five stages of the competition: online registration and entry submissions, online voting, entry evaluation, appeal, and results announcement, with no threshold, no border, and no charge. The competition will be divided into domestic (including the Hong Kong SAR, Macao SAR, and Taiwan region) and foreign divisions. It consists of individual events including Chen style, Yang style, Wu style, Wu Hao style, Sun style Taijiquan Taolu (Competition Routine), 24-posture Simplified Form of Taijiquan, Taijijian 32-posture Sword Form, 42-posture Taijiquan Taolu, 42-posture Sword Form of Taijijian Taolu and Taijishan, and three team events including Taijishan, Taiji (Eight Methods and Five Steps Routine), and 24-posture Simplified Form of Taijiquan. Depending on the event, different teams are formed, fully covering the senior, middle-aged, and youth populations.

Faced with the changing situation of the COVID-19 and people's growing fitness and cultural needs, the Chinese Wushu Association actively utilizes local resources in Wushu, constantly innovates the form of competitions, improves the quality of the events, enriches the content of the activities, promotes the marketization, standardization, and efficiency of Wushu network event services, and makes it more convenient and faster for more Wushu fans and improves the health level and participation enthusiasm. A section on traditional Chinese Wushu culture has been opened on the platform of this Global Taijiquan Virtual Competition to tell the cultural stories of Wushu to its fans all over the world, reflect the spirit of Chinese Wushu, showcase the image of Chinese Wushu, realize the creative transformation and innovative development of Chinese excellent traditional culture, and accelerate the "going global" pace of Chinese Wushu.
